Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: September 25, 2026

This policy applies while PokerEVLab is operating in public beta. We may update it as the service develops, and any material changes will be reflected on this page.
Legal text below is shown in English. The English version is the controlling version.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how PokerEVLab collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you visit the website, create an account, participate in the public beta, upload poker hand histories, or contact us.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Name, email address, password hash, account status, beta cohort date, trial dates, login records, and password-reset activity. We do not store your password in readable form.

Usage and technical information

IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, pages or features used, session and import activity, error details, and security logs.

Poker analysis information

Uploaded hand-history files and parsed information such as poker site, hand and tournament identifiers, timestamps, stakes, seats, player names or aliases, cards, betting actions, pots, results, statistics, reports, and saved sessions.

Communications

Messages, feedback, support requests, and any files or screenshots you choose to send.

3. How we use information

  • Create and secure accounts.
  • Provide hand-history imports, analysis, reports, saved sessions, and educational features.
  • Operate the public beta, identify the beta cohort, and administer access.
  • Detect errors, abuse, fraud, and security threats.
  • Respond to support and feedback.
  • Maintain, test, and improve PokerEVLab.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect legal rights.

4. Hand histories and other players

Hand histories may contain poker usernames or aliases and game information relating to other players. PokerEVLab processes this information to reconstruct and analyze the hands you upload. You are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to upload and use those files.

We do not intend to use hand-history data to identify anonymous players outside the analysis context. We do not sell hand histories or player data.

5. Access-abuse and duplicate-account detection

To protect the service from abuse and prepare for future access rules, PokerEVLab may compare signals across accounts. These signals may include email history, IP and device information, poker-site hand IDs, and privacy-conscious fingerprints created from stable hand details.

For sites such as GGPoker, player names may be anonymous or unreliable, so matching is based primarily on hand IDs and stable hand characteristics rather than usernames. Matching hero names on sites that provide them may be used only as supporting evidence.

Suspected matches should normally be flagged for administrator review rather than causing an automatic ban. This reduces false positives from shared computers, public sample files, coaching groups, or legitimately shared hand histories.

6. Legal bases for processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we generally process information because:

  • It is necessary to provide the service you requested and administer your account.
  • We have legitimate interests in operating, improving, securing, and preventing abuse of PokerEVLab, balanced against your rights.
  • You have given consent where consent is specifically requested.
  • Processing is necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

7. When information is shared

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate PokerEVLab, such as hosting, database, email-delivery, security, and support providers. They may process information only for the services they provide to us and under appropriate safeguards.

We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect users or the service, in connection with a business transfer, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal data.

8. Data retention and deletion

We retain account and hand-history information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to provide the service, maintain backups, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Security and audit logs may be kept separately for a limited period.

You may request account deletion by contacting us. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legal claims. We may introduce more specific retention periods and self-service deletion tools as the service develops.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including password hashing, access controls, secure reset tokens, and activity logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You should use a strong, unique password and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

Requests can be sent to the contact address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Children

PokerEVLab is not intended for anyone under 18, or under the higher legal age that may apply to poker-related services where the person lives. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be updated, and material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when practical.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to poker@smwgroup.com.

Website analytics

PokerEVLab may collect limited first-party usage information such as pages viewed, visit identifiers, referral source, browser, device type, and approximate country when supplied by the hosting provider. Visitor identifiers are pseudonymous. Traffic is classified as anonymous public, registered member, or internal/test so operational testing can be separated from public acquisition metrics. Raw IP addresses and account IDs are not stored in the website analytics table. This information is used to understand site performance, improve the service, and measure signup conversion.
